Introduction
Are you a commercially driven business developer who knows how to open doors, build trusted partnerships and turn complex customer needs into profitable solutions? Mpact Plastic Containers International (MPCI) is looking for a Business Development Manager to lead our growth in France.
You will own commercial development across the French market, promoting reusable plastic container and asset solutions to customers throughout the fresh-produce and wider supply-chain ecosystem. This is a high-impact role combining new-business acquisition, strategic account development, asset and logistics coordination, and disciplined commercial execution. You will work independently in market while collaborating with sales, customer support and finance colleagues across Europe.

What you will do
- Develop and deliver a focused territory plan that expands MPCI’s presence in France, particularly across fresh produce, agriculture, packaging, retail and related industries.• Build a strong qualified pipeline through prospecting, networking, structured outreach and market development.
- Manage the full sales cycle—from discovery and solution design to proposals, negotiation, contracting, onboarding and delivery.
- Grow strategic customer relationships with growers, cooperatives, packhouses, traders, retailers, logistics providers, poolers and other industry stakeholders.
- Manage regional MPCI assets, including allocation, storage, audits, record-keeping, collection and redistribution through third-party logistics partners.
- Balance revenue growth, margin, customer value and operational feasibility while supporting accurate billing and timely payment cycles.
- Maintain high-quality Salesforce records, forecasts, activity reports and next steps to provide dependable pipeline visibility.
- Turn customer insight, competitor activity and market trends into practical recommendations for commercial strategy and product development.
- Represent MPCI professionally at customer meetings, trade fairs and industry events.

What you bring
- A relevant tertiary qualification in business, sales, supply chain, agriculture, international trade or a related field or comparable commercial education.
- At least five years’ experience in B2B business development, export sales or commercial management.
- A proven record of prospecting, winning new business and developing strategic accounts in France.
- Experience in at least one relevant environment, such as agricultural packaging, fresh produce, agribusiness, reusable transit packaging, pooling, supply-chain solutions, plastics manufacturing, export logistics, FMCG or retail.
- Strong negotiation, pricing and commercial judgement, with sound awareness of profitability and customer economics.
- Fluent French and strong professional English.
- Comfort using Salesforce or a comparable CRM, commercial data and responsible AI-enabled tools for research, preparation and administration.

Travel and mobility
- Regular customer travel across France—typically three to four days per week—is an essential part of the role.
