Introduction
To drive sustainable revenue and margin growth within the Industrial Division by managing strategic customer relationships, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring strong commercial alignment with operations, supply chain and product development. The Senior Key Account Representative is responsible for strategic account planning, revenue growth, pipeline development, forecasting accuracy and customer retention, while maintaining governance, compliance and safety standards. The role requires a commercially astute professional capable of balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring that Mpact Plastic Containers remains a preferred supplier within the industrial packaging market.
Job description

1. Revenue Growth & Commercial Performance

Drive profitable revenue growth within allocated accounts and new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve agreed revenue, margin and volume growth targets
  • Develop and execute annual account growth strategies
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing customers
  • Maintain strong pricing governance and margin discipline
  • Identify new market opportunities and convert prospects into customers
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals and contract negotiations
  • Manage customer contract renewals and pricing adjustments
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends

2. Strategic Key Account Management 

Develop strong long-term partnerships with key customers to secure sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop structured Key Account Plans for all strategic customers
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with major customers
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and product development
  • Facilitate collaboration between customers and internal technical teams
  • Manage escalations and resolve complex customer issues

3. New Business Development & Pipeline Growth

Drive expansion of Mpact’s customer base through proactive business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline
  • Identify new customers and market segments
  • Participate in tender processes and commercial bids
  • Develop relationships with decision-makers within target organisations
  • Track and convert opportunities into profitable accounts

4. Forecasting & Operational Alignment 

Ensure effective collaboration between Sales, Production and Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate sales forecasts
  • Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes
  • Align customer demand with production capacity
  • Highlight risks relating to supply constraints
  • Ensure effective communication between sales and operational teams

5. Commercial Governance & Reporting

Ensure discipline in commercial reporting and sales administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate CRM (Salesforce) pipeline management
  • Ensure all opportunities are tracked and updated
  • Monitor order fulfilment and customer delivery performance
  • Track pricing changes, credits and customer queries
  • Maintain accurate sales documentation and reporting
  • Prepare budgets and customer forecasts annually

6. SHE, Food Safety (If Applicable), Admin, Liaison and Reporting

Ensure full compliance with company safety, environmental and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Safety, Health and Environmental policies
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety standards where applicable
  • Maintain safe work practices when visiting customer facilities
  • Report incidents, hazards or safety risks immediately
  • Maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders

Minimum requirements

Bachelor's Degree in:

  • Marketing

  • Business Management

  • Commerce

  • or a related commercial field
